On Thursday 19th January, Team Snicket were joined by Mr Dowsett, a Scientist who worked as part of Tim Peake’s project before he was launched into space.
The children were given the task of finding the best material to build a rocket with. They became Materials Scientist Trainees, carrying out a series of exciting experiments which tested the strength, hardness, heat and electrical conductivity of different materials. As a whole class, the children concluded that aluminium was the best material, based on its different properties. Mr Dowsett was very impressed with the hard work that took place and commented on how well the children worked in their groups, as well as the important questions that were asked.
Above are some pictures of the children in Team Snicket that show off the superb work that took place.
